PVC Processing Solutions
OMC solutions for PVC processing are designed to ensure precision, production continuity and reliability in cutting and machining cycles where temperature control and chip extraction are critical.PVC requires a different approach compared to aluminum: lower cutting speeds, blade geometries specifically designed to prevent material melting, and particular attention to chip extraction — if not removed, chips weld to the cut surface. OMC machines handle these variables with dedicated settings, ensuring a clean cutting finish and consistent dimensional accuracy.

PVC processing challenges
Cutting temperature
PVC is a thermoplastic: if the blade generates too much heat during cutting, the material melts instead of being cut, producing plastic burrs and irregular surfaces. The blade feed speed and number of teeth must be calibrated to keep the temperature below the softening threshold, which varies by PVC compound. OMC cutting machines use adjustable hydraulic feed that allows fine-tuning the cutting speed for each profile type.
Chip extraction
PVC chips are lightweight and tend to disperse. Without an extraction system, they accumulate on the worktop, contaminate the lubrication system and reduce cutting visibility. OMC dust collectors are effective on PVC chips as well and can be connected directly to the cutting machine extraction port.
Recommended PVC machinery
Cutting
Double head cutting machines and single head cutting machines from OMC are compatible with PVC-specific blades, with tooth geometry and cutting angle optimized for thermoplastic materials. Adjustable hydraulic feed allows calibrating the speed for each PVC compound.
Milling and drilling
Copy routers and CNC machining centers work PVC with the same templates and programs used for aluminum: what changes are the cutters (specific geometries for plastics) and the machining parameters (reduced speed to avoid melting).
Assembly
PVC windows are typically welded rather than crimped, but assembly benches remain essential for frame positioning, gasket insertion and hardware adjustment.
Why process PVC with OMC machines
More precise and repeatable cutting.
Waste reduction.
Better production process continuity.
